Eight settings, one material palette.
Buyers usually describe the environment before they describe the product — a washdown bay, a freezer door, a 22-degree incline. Pick the setting and the material list follows.
Food processing & washdown
Washdown bays are wet, warm and open to insects. The curtain has to be clear enough to see a pallet through, amber enough to stop flies, and formulated so it does not haze after a year of daily cleaning. Floor drainage matters as much as the curtain — standing water is the actual slip risk.
Cold chain & logistics
A freezer doorway is a flexibility problem. DOP stiffens as temperature drops and the strips stop hanging straight; DOTP keeps them supple. Where the door is a passage rather than a barrier, magnetic self-closing strips remove the need for a door operator.
Livestock & dairy
Cubicle matting is judged by tear strength and drainage, not by thickness. An 8 MPa fabric-reinforced mat survives hoof traffic that splits a plain SBR sheet. In walkways, honeycomb profiling lets urine drain away instead of pooling under the mat.
Mining & aggregates
Quarries run two wear problems at once: abrasion on the belt cover and impact at the transfer point. Chevron profiles handle the incline; higher adhesion (10–24 MPa) handles the impact. For placer operations, the gold mining carpet is a separate product entirely.
Cement & building materials
Cement dust escapes at every transfer. A sidewall belt removes the skirt board and the clean-up labour with it. Where the run is long, steel cord carries the tension so the cover only has to carry abrasion.
Fitness & recreation
Gym flooring is specified by dropped weight, not by foot traffic. Tiles need enough thickness to absorb a barbell and enough hardness not to bottom out under a rack. Transitions are the part buyers forget: a ramp edge ordered later never sits flush.
Commercial property
Entrance matting in retail is destroyed by trolley wheels and cleaning machines. Firm or nailed-back construction outlasts foam where carts roll over the mat daily. For branded lobbies, logo inserts are produced with the mat rather than appliquéd on top.
Machinery & fabrication
Machine guarding needs a sheet you can see through after a year of oil mist. Welding bays need the opposite: a dark green or bronze curtain that blocks UV. Both are PVC, and both can ship in the same order as the seals and pulley lagging the maintenance team keeps asking for.
Describe the environment instead of the product.
Temperature, traffic, chemicals, incline — that is enough for us to name the compound and the profile.
